between 1920 to 1948 the whole area was called Palestine. When the British pulled out (there were bombs) in 1948 the Jewish people who were by then a majority decided the area would be independent of the British and renamed it the “State of Israel”

“land of Israel”, “Zion” and “Judea” were rejected

the original Kingdom of Israel was destroyed around 720 BCE, by the Neo-Assyrian Empire.

Cyrus the Great sponsored Judah in 539 BCE but Israel as such didn’t

pop up again for another 2,500 years or so

Interestingly, Hebrew was also a dead language up until it was reinvented in the 19th century, it was used for religious and commercial purposes like Latin

The immediate problem obviously is the 9000 dead people on both

sides and Benjamin Netanyahu’s clear statement of an intent to commit genocide

Genocide means the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group and this is what Mr Netanyahu is clearly saying are his intentions
