I think that there is a real problem when psychologists try and teach psychological techniques to their “clients”
Because there are fundamental differences between relating to a “client” and relating to a friend or family member
Ths first difference is getting paid, “paid friends” are an abomination and a perversity
Motivational interviewing starts with an understanding of this, in my (provisional) opinion.

QAnon refers to a set of far-right, conspiratorial ideologies that have risen in popularity in
the U.S. and globally since their initial promotion in 2017 on the 4 chan Internet message
board. A central narrative element of QAnon has been that a powerful group of elite, liberal
members of the Democratic Party engage in morally reprehensible practices, but that
former U.S. President Donald J. Trump was prosecuting them. Five studies investigated
the influence and network connectivity of accounts promoting QAnon propaganda on
Twitter from August 2020 through January 2021.

Tang ping (Chinese: 躺平; pinyin: tǎng píng; lit. ‘lying flat’) is a lifestyle and social protest movement in China beginning in April 2021. It is a rejection of societal pressures to overwork, such as in the 996 working hour system, which is often regarded as a rat race with ever diminishing returns.[1][2][3][4] Those who participate in tang ping instead choose to “lie down flat and get over the beatings”[citation needed] via a low-desire, more indifferent attitude towards life. It can be thought as the Chinese equivalent of the hippies counter-culture movement.[5]

Food Not Bombs is a loose-knit group of independent collectives, sharing free vegan and vegetarian food with others. Food Not Bombs’ ideology is that myriad corporate and government priorities are skewed to allow hunger to persist in the midst of abundance. To demonstrate this and to reduce costs, a large amount of the food served by the group is surplus food from grocery stores, bakeries and markets that would otherwise go to waste, or occasionally has already been thrown away. This group exhibits a form of franchise activism.

Guerrilla gardening is the act of gardening – raising food, plants, or flowers – on land that the gardeners do not have the legal rights to cultivate, such as abandoned sites, areas that are not being cared for, or private property. It encompasses a diverse range of people and motivations, ranging from gardeners who spill over their legal boundaries to gardeners with a political purpose, who seek to provoke change by using guerrilla gardening as a form of protest or direct action. This practice has implications for land rights and land reform; aiming to promote re-consideration of land ownership in order to assign a new purpose or reclaim land that is perceived to be in neglect or misused. Some gardeners work at night, in relative secrecy, in an effort to make the area more useful or attractive, while others garden during the day for publicity.

According to researchers, being a compelling communicator boils down to projecting two qualities: warmth and strength. Being compelling is important, but it doesn’t help you to navigate potential conflict.

Nonviolent communication does. In fact, practicing NVC can lead you to completely rethink your values, but more on that later. Perhaps the biggest benefit of the nonviolent communication model is that it gets you to focus your attention in more productive ways during potentially heated exchanges.

The libertarian is pleased – ‘the hand of the market at work!’ – whereas the socialist worries that the building is a harbinger of gentrification; the YIMBY sees progress, but the environmentalist is concerned about the building’s carbon footprint.…

“…ask yourself — when was the last time a piece of internet content asked you, “how well do you understand your subconscious mind” and truly meant it?

In what other cultural medium can you find the deepest libidinal channels of the brain truly laid bare, with the quarterly pay-per-click revenue report to back them up?

Have you lately exercised your deep-seated impulse to view an image of a weeping soft-cooked egg sitting on top of the pimple-encrusted face of Uma Thurman?
What are you waiting for?

Into the chumpools. The fetid ball of soggy electric fat at the other end of your clicking finger will thank you for the workout.

If I am doing this work, to link into a network of conversation, why don’t I optimise the experience?

I would need to be clear about what I was optimising, it’s not income and it’s not exposure. What is it?

  • connect with people who have exciting ideas and education
  • connect to people who are doing things or will be doing things
  • a feed of information

The experiment is still to communicate peer to peer rather than broadcast BUT perhaps broadcast has value in finding connection

Broadcast has a negative value when it engages me with connections that are not focused on the project
